St Michael's Mount, Marazion, UK
Absolutely stunning. One of the best National Trust places I have been. Well worth the climb to the top but beware it is steep and not an easy walk.
Historic rugged territory..lovely castle, cafes and shops. Spent hours here! Just what you'd expect from NT property. Very busy on a Bank holiday which meant a bit of a queue for the boats to get there and back...but they didn't hang around, so not so bad. Very busy but that didn't interfere at all with our enjoyment of the place. Staff very happy to help.
One of the best places we've been and visited and definitely worth waiting for low tide to walk the causeway! The mount is beautiful and is National Trust! The views from the top are breathtaking! Could spend a few hours visiting the place.
Fabulous historic abbey and house to visit. The former ownés still live there under a 999 year lease with the Historic Places Trust. Has some pleasant gardens facing the seaward side but not accessible to the public.
Look, this place is a MUST visit if you are in Cornwall. But make sure you have good shoes as it is a steep climb to the Castle at the top. And it seems even steeper coming down :( However, it really is worth the effort :) mo
