Beautiful inside and out. Definitely, worth a visit when you’re in Sofia. Without understanding the history behind, you would say that it’s very artistic and great Cathedral in Sofia but there’s a dark history behind. According to wiki, it was the site of a terrorist Attack in 1925. It’s then being renovated to leave no traces of the Attack. Other than that, it’s definitely worth a visit. It’s incredible more on the inside, which in Bulgaria - they believe that for respect, it’s better not to take photos inside the cathedral. So I only managed to have outside which already magnificent. Along this cathedral, you’ll see more tourist sites within the area as it’s considered central area.

This church must be visited during your stay in Sofia. In the very centre of Sofia, with such a impressive architecture and more impressive history. And the most important thing that there are the Holy remains of Saint Serbian king Stefan Milutin who builds or rebuilds more then 40 churches or monasteries for his life.

One of the most popular Orthodox cathedrals situated in the very centre of Sofia. Interesting architecture, large hall, beautiful altar.

St Nedalaya church is an Orthodox Church in the center of Sofia dating back to 10th century. It was reconstructed many times before becoming the current Eastern Orthodox Church. Until 19th century, Church has retained its wooden structure in contrast to the most of the churches which were converted to brick and mortar around 14th century. The reason was unknown. The interiors of the church are simply mesmerising! Gilted altars follow the iconostasis pattern of hierarchy with Christ the pantocrator to the right and Virgin Mary seated with baby Jesus to the left. There are capturing Frescoes through out, for one on the one on left side wall depicts a detailed Nativity. Another remarkable feature is the central gilted chandelier with gorgeous miniature icons and floral embellishments. If you are in Sofia, I strongly advice to visit this church for at least few minutes. Note, although the entry is free, you need to buy a ticket (5 lev) if you are taking pictures (worth spending 5 lev!)

St. Nedelja Orthodoh Church is a medieval religious monument, that plays an important role for the Bulgarian Orthodox Christians. Nova days it is popular for wedings, but the church is more important with it's history. In famous athentat in 1925 the church was destroyed by dynamite from group of comunists leaded by Anton Ivanov, sent in Soviet submarine through Black sea, by the order of J. V. Stalin. Almost the whole political and military establishment of the young Bulgarian state has been murderd in this Easter day, during the liturgy. Even Georgi Dimitrov was against this antihuman and severe act. Other interesting fact for the church is that on the left side of the Altair lays the coffin with relics of the Serbian king Stefan II Uros Milutin, from Nemanic dynasty, who has built more then 40 churches and monasteries. For that reason the church has been popular amongs the citizens of Sofia as St. Kral (King) church. The wife of Milutin was Bulgarian princes Anna Terter, daughter of the Bulgarian king Georgi Terter and sister of other famous Bulgarian king Svetoslav Terter. Their son Stefan III Uros Decanski has been Serbian king too.
