Beautiful place. A bit out of the way but worth the journey if you're going on one of the tours or you're wanting to make a day trip out of it. The town's nearby are also really welcoming and the food is good. We didn't stop at the restaurant at the Monastery because of the reviews we'd read but we were happy with this discussion.

One of the wonders of Bulgaria! A must see. Even climbing the keep is wonderful. So much valuable history in one place. This place has been well kept for a thousand years!

My wife and I loved visiting here. The monastery is very beautiful, but there is not much to do there after a few hours. It is a great place to visit as a quick day trip, but I don't think there would be much reason to stay very long unless you were planning on doing a bit of hiking in the area

Bathrooms could do with some renovations and cleaning though.

Beautiful setting. Stunning surrounding views. Beautiful paintings on the ceilings and well worth the visit to the museum - the detail of the wood carving cross is completely bonkers!
