Skaftafell National Park, in the southeastern part of Iceland, is a paradise for the outdoor lover. This biking tour takes you through the diverse landscapes of Skaftafell – great glacial views are guaranteed!
Skaftafell National Park has been one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland for decades due to its scenic landscape and favorable weather conditions. It was established a National Park in 1967, but in 2008 it became a part of the newly established Vatnajökull National Park. It is the most perfect place to enjoy outdoor activities in Icelandic nature surrounded by Icelands biggest glacier, Icelands largest sand plain and Icelands highest summit.
On this tour we will take you to Bæjarstaðarskógur, one of the last original birch forrest in Iceland, and secret spots where you can enjoy the astonishing landscape in peace and quiet away from the crowd. The biking is fantastic, with sandy and gravel tracks through an old glacier river bank and through the lupin vegetated single track.
