The history of Iceland, dating back to 874 a.c., is one rich of heritage and full of viking stories, adventures and fairy-tails which are worth learning about during your visit.
Before your trip, we suggest reading at least one of the many Icelandic Sagas which cast a good light on our history. There are also a few great museums and art galleries in Iceland worth visiting for anyone interested in art and history. To name a few, we recommend the Settler’s exhibition (named 874 +- 2, referencing the year Iceland was settled), the Reykjavik Art Gallery and the now world-famous penis museum - yes, you read that right.
